The first filling of Speyburn Single Malt Scotch Whisky coincided with the year of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. To be certain that it was made for the Jubilee, men worked through the night in a heavy snowstorm and managed to produce one single barrel. Speyburn continues to use traditional distillation methods that created the single barrel of the 1897 vintage. Often described as the most photographed distillery, Speyburn is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland which is renowned for its outdoors. Speyburn is distilled in the famous Speyside region of the Scottish Highlands using the fresh clear waters of the Granty Burn. The Granty Burn is connected to the River Spey, which is known for its world-class salmon fishing and the invention of the Spey casting method.
