Founded in the Santiago suburb of Pirque, Viña Concha y Toro is now the biggest name in Chilean wine. In fact, it's one of the five biggest wine producers in the world. It was named Wine Enthusiast's New World Winery of the Year in 2004, and currently produces more than 15 million cases annually.
Born in Santiago de Chile, Loreto Ruiz is an Agriculture Engineer – Winemaker of Universidad Católica of Valparaiso. She also has a Diploma in Chilean Wine at the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile.
Her interest in the world of wine, began while she was studying Agronomy, as well as her family custom of enjoying a glass of wine with every meal.
After she finished her studies, she made the decision to carry out her first harvest at Viña Cono Sur, an outstanding Chilean winery, where she worked in the oenological area for three years, thus beginning her real passion for wine.
In 2006, she joined Viña Concha y Toro, where she worked as a commercial winemaker for the Latin American countries, being an ambassador for the company’s Fine Wines brands, such as Don Melchor, Terrunyo and Marqués de Casa Concha, among others, representing them in the most important wine fairs in the region, as well as carrying out tastings, pairing dinners, sommelier training, presentations to specialized journalists, among other activities.
In 2018, she decided to start hes own project called Oh My Wine!, seeking to bring consumers closer to the world of wine through different experiences, such as sensory tastings of Aromas del Vino, as well as working with wines from small producers in Chile .
Loreto is part of the Asociación de Mujeres del Vino of Chile and certified Level 3 of the Wine Spirit Education Trust (WSET)
