Overview

From Michael Bauer, SF Chronicle Food Critic -
"Welcome to Curtis Di Fede’s restaurant, Miminashi.  [...] the versatile chef has turned his Japanese passion into a brick-and-mortar reality.

The restaurant’s design is stunning with a three-sided entrance paved with hundreds of wood carvings that represent Mount Fuji and an interior that features poplar wood ceilings that represent interlocking pagodas.
The main part of the menu is dominated by yakitori, with just about every part of the chicken being skewered and grilled. Di Fede also offers other cuts such as beef tongue, either the tip or the base.

The extensive menu also includes ramen, fried rice with different daily changing toppings, gyoza, a super delicate version of fried chicken wings and for dessert, soft cream in various flavors with myriad toppings.

Miminashi has it all: a well-conceived wine list, excellent sake and well-balanced cocktails. It’s destined to become the new hotspot in downtown Napa."
