1st Republic Brewing Company started when a couple friends who worked together, started homebrewing together. After doing that for years in their garage in Fairfax they decided to start distributing. After dozens of brewfests in Vermont and having a blast brewing beer, they decided to expand their operation, so they decided to move to Essex, Vermont. Their dream was to open up a brewery and a homebrew shop, to stay close to their roots and what got them started.
